MEMBERS of the Wildlife Club at Sutton on Sea Primary School made stark discoveries when dissecting barn owl pellets.

Roger Briggs, reserve manager at Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes, National Nature Reserve, visited the school last Tuesday, October 11, to pass his expertise onto the children.

“The club were fascinated by finding the remains of voles, shrews and frogs which the owls had been eating,” explained Ania Watson, leader of the wildlife club.

Last month three young members of the club were given awards for their entries into the Sutton on Sea Horticultural Society’s 70th show.

The club meets after school every Tuesday and the children are members of the RSPB Wildlife Explorers.
