EIGHT trees on the Weavers Tryst Estate in Legbourne Road, Louth, are to be removed in the coming weeks.
As part of its tree management programme, East Lindsey District Council identified trees, situated along the bank of a drain near four houses, to be suffering with decay and poor health to such an extent that they could fall.
Two of the trees are protected by Tree Preservation Orders and the council will use a safety exemption to remove them as they are in a poor condition and within falling distance of homes.
The council has a policy of planting a new tree for every one it removes. This planting will take place over the winter period.
