THIS picture of a seal washed up on Mablethorpe beach was sent in to us by local resident and Leader reader Peter Gregory.
It was found on the beach on Thursday, September 1 and reported to the Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary.
The sanctuary confirmed the seal was a common seal pup which can often be seen on our coastline in the summer months.
A seal sanctuary staff member said: “We found two seals the day before this one, so there are plenty around!”
The seal was taken in by the sanctuary and given worming and parasite treatment. It will be released back into the sea when the treatment is finished.
