Caravan site’s solar farm plans get initial approval

PLANS to power a Trusthorpe caravan park entirely by solar power have been given the approval by Mablethorpe and Sutton Town Council.

Trusthorpe Springs have applied to East Lindsey District Council to install a 50 kw solar farm on land behind the site consisting of 216 panels.

The site is currently home to 125 static caravans.

Members of the town council’s planning committee supported the £200,000 project on Monday but would like to see a contribution to the local environment via a section 106 agreement.

The plans will now be decided by the district council at a planning meeting in the coming months.
