WATER quality at bathing beaches at Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea has once again been recognised by blue flag quality awards.
The prestigious flag means the water quality has met a set of stringent bacteriological standards which, paired with a top quality beach, show tourists that the resorts are among the cleanest in the world.
Huttoft and Anderby were also both recognised as having excellent water quality.
Adrian Lack, from the Environment Agency, said: “We are delighted all our bathing waters continue to meet the highest criteria for water quality. It is good news for those living on or holidaying on our coast as well as for onshore wildlife and marine life.”
Stricter standards will come into force in 2015 though, and Mr Lack insists the firm ‘will not rest on its laurels’.
