The Environment Agency is currently running Challenges and Choices, a consultation which aims to tacklethe challenges facing rivers, lakes and coastal waters, and wants people in Lincolnshire to take the opportunity to have their say on what should be done to improve them.
Matt Latham, environment programme manager, said: “Everyone enjoys spending time either by or on the water. Water is vitally important to us all. We have made significant strides in improving water quality over the last two decades but we know there is still more to do.
“The best way to protect and improve the water environment is by everyone becoming actively involved either by taking part in our consultation or getting involved in one of the many groups and organisations that help care for it.
“The Environment Agency must balance the needs of people, businesses, farmers and the environment and we want people to help us decide how to do it.”
Challenges and Choices runs until December 22 and is open to everyone, from businesses to utility companies, to wildlife groups and individuals. People can have their say online at www.environment-agency.gov.uk/challengesandchoices.
