MABLETHORPE and Sutton on Sea’s bathing water has once again been given the top rating in an annual survey.
In the latest edition of the Good Beach Guide, launched this week by the Marine Conservation Society, 461 UK beaches are listed as having top quality bathing water.
And the two resorts have been left celebrating as yet another award is bestowed upon them after last month being recognised with Blue Flag and Quality Coastline awards.
But repeating the feat next year could prove a difficult task, with new European Law demanding sterner quality testing.
Yet local and national experts have predicted that if communities and environment regulators embrace the stricter guidelines, we could be on the brink of enjoying the cleanest seas ever.
