’Overweight’ green bins will not be emptied, warns East Lindsey District Council.
A council spokesperson said: “With the grass cutting season now upon us, East Lindsey residents are reminded not to overload their green bins.
“The bins are built to cope with their capacity but waste must not be tightly packed down.
“Additional green waste can be composted or taken to one of the district’s Household Recycling Centres to be properly disposed of.
“Bins that are presented overweight will unfortunately have to be rejected.
“Take advantage of the Lincolnshire Waste Partnership’s composting scheme at www.lincscc.getcomposting.com.
ELDC has recently been criticised for suggesting that residents may have to pay for their gren wheelie bins to be emptied in the future.
