TEN seals rescued from a tidal surge at Donna Nook are recovering well at Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary.

The freak incident earlier this month meant many seal pups had died or been separated from their mothers.

“The ten we have are doing quite well,” said Dennis Drew of the seal sanctuary. “We will keep them here for five to six months and see how they progress, though we’re hoping all will make a full recovery.”

It will cost the seal santuary around £2,000 to keep each seal for the period while they recover.
