Theddlethorpe pupils taught woodland importance

CHILDREN from Theddlethorpe Primary School were taught the importance of woodland when they attended an outdoor learning day at Goltho Wood, near Wragby.

They learned the value of protecting woodland, how they are managed and the importance of valuing trees in our world today.

The session was part of the Woodland Discovery Day Programme, run by the Woodland Trust and TK Maxx.

The children took part in activities including building a hedgehog shelter, comparing tree leaves and sharing stories.

Sue East, from the Woodland Trust, said: “I’m really pleased children from the Theddlethorpe Community Primary School got the chance to take part in this fun programme. There is nothing better for learning than visiting outdoor classrooms like woodland.”
