A TEENAGER from Louth played an epic game of golf to raise £1,100 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Chris Cooper, 17, took part in the Longest Day Golf Challenge at Greetham Valley Golf Club near Stamford.
Chris, who has been playing for four years at Louth Golf Club and has a handicap of five, did the challenge with Ryan Tarrant, 16, and Matt Bell, 20, who are both members at Greetham Valley.
Chris said: “I was looking for charity events on Google and this event called the Longest Day Golf Challenge came up on the list. I texted Ryan straight away to say that we should do it, he said yes and he then asked Matt who said yes too and within a couple of days all of it had got sorted and the sponsorship forms were out and the fundraising site was up on the web.
“We teed off at Greetham Valley Golf Club on June 21 at 5am and finished around 9pm to 10pm. It was perfect weather for golf and the course was in fabulous condition.
“We would like to thank all the people who donated money to the charity, also to all people who were supporting us at Greetham Valley Golf Club on the day and to the club its self for hosting the event.”
