EAST Barkwith Village Hall will be the place to be on Tuesday September 11 when prize bingo is to be back on the agenda following a break over the summer months when the regulars have other commitments.
There will be useful store cupboard prizes for those with the lucky numbers and raffle prizes to win too. It is eyes down at 7.30pm with tea and biscuits served during the interval and proceeds are for village hall funds. There will be a further session on Tuesday September 25 at the same time and then the attendance will be assessed before a decision is made regarding the future of prize bingo at East Barkwith as the dwindling numbers make it uneconomic particularly in winter when the hall has to be heated.
The regulars mainly travel from surrounding villages as now there are very few residents interested in playing what was once a very popular table game and a good way of raising funds. The organiser is Yvonne Bryson and she will be happy to give more details if contacted.
