In November Monks’ Dyke Tennyson College Mablethorpe and Louth sites applied to register in the national initiative to become a Level 2 school in the Football Association’s Team Sixteen project and were successful.
Team Sixteen is a new intra-school football programme (for students aged 11 to 16) developed by The Football Association (FA) along with delivery partners, The English Schools FA and The Independent Schools FA and also forms the FA’s Level 1 School Games.
It aims to engage secondary school children who are not currently participating in sporting activity outside of regular PE lessons.
Level 2, which Monks’ Dyke has been awarded, will include a Team Sixteen Maker - a student from within the school whose role it is to encourage his/her peers to participate in Team Sixteen, making it a programme delivered by young people, for young people.
MDTC is honoured to have been accepted onto this prestigious project.
