A MABLETHORPE woman has faced her fears by taking to the skies to raise money for the Royal British Legion.

Maureen Bishop went up in a glider with pilot Dick Skerry on Sunday morning thanks to Lincolnshire Gliding Club at the airfield at Strubby.

Kind donations by friends and family meant Maureen managed to raise £220 for the Mablethorpe branch of the charity.

Maureen’s husband Jamie, an ex-Marine, along with friends, family, and British Legion representatives were there to cheer her on.
