THE Mablethorpe and Sutton Town Council have confirmed that all fish have been removed from the pond at St Mary’s Wildlife Park in Mablethorpe.
Due to a dramatic drop in the water level, either down to the dry summer or a break in the pond lining, many fish had sadly died.
Some residents called us at the Leader expressing concerns over the state of the fish pond.
The living fish will be rehomed and the pond could be refilled with new fish after repairs are complete.
The town council said: “Thanks must go to all the people who contacted us so quickly to report the situation and I hope people will be appreciate and realise we had to wait for the Environment Agency to ensure there was no contamination before we could remove the fish.”
