HOME and business owners on the Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea coast are being invited to have their say on how tidal flood risk is managed in the future.
The Environment Agency intends to fully review the flood defences between Saltfleet and Gibraltar Point and will be hosting a workshop in Sutton for people to share their views.
Experts will be on hand to discuss current risk management and the organisors hope to find out what local people want the coast to be like in 20 years’ time. They also aim to help residents understand the level of risk attributed to our coast and what is being done to protect them.
Mike Dugher, area coastal manager, said: “Defences on the Lincolnshire coast provide an excellent standard of protection but coastal flooding remains a risk. Our review will determine the best way to manage the risk to ensure properties and business along the Lincolnshire coast remain protected.”
The event will take place throughout the day on Wednesday, May 18 at Sutton on Sea’s Meridale Hall.
