Flood sandbag appeal for Louth and district

DESPITE sunny weather, East Lindsey District Council is urging local people affected by the recent flooding to keep their sandbags.

The recent high rainfall resulted in many properties across East Lindsey being affected by surface water flooding and hundreds of sandbags were given out to help people protect their homes and businesses.

The council is also reminding local people in areas of flood risk to ensure they have a plan in place to protect their property and to sign up the flood warnings direct.

A council statement said: “Having a flood plan in place will help you decide what practical actions to take before and during a flood, which will help reduce the damage and disruption flooding can cause. Keeping the Sandbags will enable a quicker response to future flood threats.”
