A 10-year-old girl from Sussex loves Mablethorpe when she holidays here every year and she’s even designed a leaflet all about the seaside resort.
Flora Weller from Laughton, East Sussex travels the 203 miles from her hometown for a holiday in Mablethorpe.
It’s also an opportunity for her to spend time with her auntie, Fiona Barnes who has lived in the resort for the last 12 years.
Flora always comes to Mablethorpe during the summer holidays and when her school asked their students to design a three fold, double-sided leaflet promoting a holiday place, she jumped at the chance of doing it about Mablethorpe.
Flora who attends the Blackboys Church of England Primary School said: “I really enjoy making my leaflet all about Mablethorpe, I come down here to visit my auntie every year.
“I really like all the attractions that the town has and I enjoy the sandy beaches, as they don’t have them where I live, there mainly pebbled beaches.
“I also find going to the boating lake and the miniture railyway lots of fun.”
Flora’s leaflet included a hand drawn scale map of the area and information about all the local attractions such as Queens Park and the Seal Sanctuary.
The beach, the Bathing Beauties Festival as well as Anderby Cloud Bar and Theddlethorpe Pumping Station were also in her leaflet which she showed her auntie on her recent trip to the resort a few weeks ago.
Flora got top marks for her leaflet and also said; “My teacher really liked my leaflet as he said it brougt back memories as he used to come down to Mablethorpe when he was a young boy.
“The best part of making the leaflet was choosing all the pictures for it, some I drew and others I took photographs.
“There a photo of the beach huts and one of me on a donkey.”
