A new series of events are taking place this summer aimed at giving families the chance to try fishing.

Lets Go Family Fishing events provide a free introduction to angling, giving families the opportunity to see what fishing is like.

All tackle and bait will be provided, however anyone looking to attend is encouraged to bring along any fishing tackle they may have. Volunteers and licensed angling coaches will be there to show you how to assemble tackle, use a selection of baits, handle fish and make sure all your questions are answered.

Burgh Angling Society are organising four free events over the summer at their lake at Dales Pit near Alford on Wednesday, June 22, Wednesday, August 10 (both from 5-8pm) and Sunday, July 17, Sunday, August 21 (both from 2-5pm).

James Roche, senior regional officer for the Angling Trust, said; “The Lets Go Family Fishing events are a great way to have a go at fishing and find out what it is like. Fishing is a great activity for all to enjoy.”

Those interested in attending are asked to book a place by emailing the club via: enquiries@burghanglingsociety.co.uk or call 07733116550 (after 6pm).
