THE journey to Bethlehem was recreated at Gayton le Marsh, when Mickey the donkey led a procession through the village.
Children dressed for the main character parts and they were followed by people bearing lamps and torches.
Readings to tell the nativity were read at points throughout the village and carols were sung with enthusiasm.
The procession ended at the village hall with a hot drink and mince pies for all.
Mickey returned to his stable (with a extra carrot or two).
