The official launch of the second annual Geoff Findon Bikeathon took place on Thursday (May 22) and the main event will take place on Sunday, June 15.
The event is held in memory of Geoff Findon, co-organiser of last year’s Louth District Hospice Bikeathon which raised £578, but Geoff was unable to attend the event as he lost his battle with cancer shortly after the event.
This year’s bikeathon is in his memory as well as again raising money for hospice and also coincides with National Bike Week, which takes place from June 14-22.
Geoff was a keen cycler and a long time member of the Cyclists’ Touring Club.
This year’s event takes place at Louth’s Meridian Leisure Centre with a 10-mile family bike ride which starts at 11am, a 30-mile cycle ride starting off at 10am and a 50-mile ride at 9am.
Entry for the event is £5 per rider and under 16s are free.
Everyone is welcome to take part. For more information regarding the bikeathon or if you would like an entry form, please contact Tim Newbury on 01507 600084 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
