The green light has now been received for the repairs to Louth War memorial
Louth Town Council now has approval (from the loss adjuster for the insured party) to proceed with the repair work following the traffic collision on March 15.
Contracts will be issued to local craft and tradespeople to carry out the work, which it is hoped will be completed in time for Remembrance Day Commemorations in November.
The work will include specialist repairs to lead lettering, ordering of best matched stone for the shields from Italy, the removal of conifers, and the rebuilding of the retaining wall.
The temporary shields will remain until the repaired/new stones are in place.
Progress reports will continue to be posted on the War Memorial, in Community Notice Boards, on the Town Council website at www.louthtowncouncil.gov.uk.
Alternatively, contact the Town Clerk on 01507 355895.
