A SPORTS programme in Louth has received national recognition from the organisers of London 2012.

The Three Pointer Basketball development programme based at the Meridian Leisure Centre and Cordeaux School has been given the Inspire Mark, an accolade only awarded to initiatives that meet the values of London 2012, including community participation and skills development.

Three Pointer is a partnership between Louth Storm Basketball Team and East Lindsey District Council and gives people of all ages the chance to take part in basketball with sessions run by qualified England Basketball Coaches.

Club Organiser Fiona McBurnie said: “We would like to thank the council for its support and help with promoting Louth Storm as the pinnacle of East Lindsey Basketball through the Basketball Programme.”

Three Pointer sessions take place on Mondays at 4pm for U14’s at Cordeaux School and Saturdays at 7pm for U18’s at the Meridian Leisure Centre.
