THE Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea Leg Club has gone from strength to strength since its creation in 2006, offering a friendly and welcoming environment to have leg conditions treated.

The weekly clinic works in partnership with volunteers and NHS district nurses to offer support and treatment for all kinds of problems such as ulcers, sores and swells.

Anyone can attend as long as they are registered with a GP in Mablethorpe or Sutton.

Nurse Jenny Kidner said: “The club offers a really social atmosphere and we are very well supported with around 40 people coming regularly each week.”

So far over 900 people have come through the club for treatment since 2006, providing a valuable free service on the doorstep of local people.

The club also organises a highly popular Christmas dinner each year.

l The leg club is open on Tuesday mornings from 9.30am until 12.30pm at Mablethorpe Community Hall in Stanley Avenue. For more details contact Jenny on 07826 919218.
