The Marisco Medical Practice in Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea is hoping for a new start after a year of ‘difficulties’ and being unable to meet increased patient demand for appointments.
This month two new partners, and an additional permanent GP, have joined the practice.
Practice Manager Janet Goult said: “We hope this will be a new start for the practice and hope all patients will work with us to ensure an improved relationship in the future.
“Two further partners have been appointed and they will join the practice from June 2014. We will continue to recruit new partners in the coming months in order to improve patient satisfaction and provide quality care to all our patients.”
The practice has faced ‘difficulties’ due to the retirement and resignation of four partners between September 2012 and March 2013.
Janet added: “Patient demand for appointments has increased enormously this year, and despite the use of many locum doctors, we have been unable to meet this extra demand.
“The telephone system has also been under pressure and the reception team have tried extremely hard to accommodate those patients who needed to be seen more urgently.
“Whilst we understand patients’ frustration, the reception team cannot cope with angry patients who verbally abuse them either on the telephone or at the reception desk. The practice will not tolerate this type of behaviour which is unacceptable in any circumstances.
“Future instances of such abuse at the reception desk will result in the police being called and patients escorted off the premises. Staff will terminate all telephone calls if patients become abusive towards them.
“Any patient who is willing to give up their time, might like to join the Patient Participation Group.”
