Improvements extended to Louth County Hospital

Improvements to car parks and encouragement of alternative forms of transport to hospitals in Lincolnshire have been extended to Louth County Hospital.

As part of United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust’s travel plan, car parks are being improved at Lincoln, Boston, Grantham and Louth with enhanced lighting, security, layout and signage.

Staff are also being encouraged to lift share, use public transport or cycle to work to help reduce the Trust’s carbon footprint.

The Trust consulted with staff on the proposed travel plan which included a number of options for the introduction of charges for staff.

Charges for the public will remain the same and anyone visiting hospital sites must continue to display a ticket which can be bought at the pay and display machines in the car parks.

Changes to the car parks at County Hospital, Louth will be made over the next two months, resulting in clear designation of where parking is permitted.

The changed arrangements will maximise use of the available space for patient/visitor and staff parking. There will also be designated bays for blue badge holders and additional facilities for short term drop-off.

Parking arrangements will be enforced at Louth from Monday October 15, and anyone failing to display a staff permit, pay and display ticket or anyone parking inappropriately will receive a Penalty Charge Notice.

For the first month, these will be warning notices to allow for a period of adjustment but full enforcement will come into place in mid-November.
