A care home in Mablethorpe is set for closure due to demand for places in the home being down causing added ‘financial pressures’ on the facility.
Jack Parkinson Court Care Home, in Ruskin Road, Mablethorpe is run by The Orders Of St John Care Trust who recently made the announcement of their consultation process to close the home.
A statement made by the organisation said: “We can confirm that unfortunately we are proposing to close Jack Parkinson Court.
“For a number of years demand for places at the home has been, low with typically 26 out of 36 beds occupied at any one time.
“This has put enormous financial pressures on the home, and sadly we are also faced with significant costs running into hundreds of thousands of pounds to maintain the fabric of the building over the coming years.”
It also stated: “With great sadness, this has left us with no option but to close the home.
“We are currently in consultation with our residents, their relatives and advocates, and our staff to ensure that this process is handled with the minimum of disruption.
“The well being of our residents is our prime concern and we will of course do our utmost to ensure that the best solution is found for all concerned.”
