The director of public health for Lincolnshire, Dr Tony Hill, talks about the importance of increasing the number of children who receieve immunisation in Lincolnshire.

Dr Hill said: “We have got relatively few cases at the moment in Lincolnshire, although the numbers have slightly increased over the last few weeks.

“We do have a quite reasonable uptake of immunisation but there really is a need to get it up to even more than we have had before. Lots of parents - well over 90 per cent of parents - are immunising their children anyway but we do need more than that.

“It’s also about not just children who are due the vaccination at the moment but children who have missed out in the past right up to teenagers.”
