A group set up to enhance the lives of the older members of the community in Grimoldby and Manby has celebrated its first anniversary.

The Honeysuckle Club, which meets every Tuesday at Grimoldby Village Hall, was launched in June last year with the aim of giving support and encouragement of vulnerable people in the neighbourhood.

Last week they celebrated a year of success with a special birthday party at the village hall.

Led by Linda Knowles and Moya Renard, the club is affiliated to Grimoldby and Manby Parish Council, and is made up entirely of local people who give up their own time.

The group raises money through sponsorship, grants, sales and events in order to provide regular coffee mornings, lunches, entertainment and day trips.

Members also enjoy guest speakers, quizzes, music and more.

As well as leading the group, Linda and Moya regularly help older people with their weekly shopping and visits to the doctors.
