Huge support for first Louth Bike Night

LOUTH and District Lions Club were overwhelmed with the support of the local people and bikers who came from near and far to support their first bike night.

Liz Liz Shaw of Louth Lions said: “We were very lucky with the weather, our support band Klout were fantastic and kept the crowds entertained.

“Thanks to all the local shops, cafes and bars who stayed open for us, and thanks to the traders who came and gave donations or raffle prizes on the night.

“Over 700 bikers came on the night ligning Mercer Row both sides and right down Eastgate, most of the carp arks were full and we think around 1,000 people stood in the Market Place listening to the band and soaking up the electric atmosphere.

“What a night Louth town centre had.”

Philip Brougham said: “I wanted to congratulate the Louth Lions for putting on a wonderful evening of entertainment. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening and from the view of a lot of people we spoke to it was a success, all of the people we spoke to wanted it to be a yearly event!!! One again, many thanks for a great evening.”

Jeff Sardeson said: “What a great night...well done to everyone that helped out. I am Secretary of the Lincolnshire Triumph Owners Club and we turned up in numbers and all had a great night. If you want us to be involved with any future events like this, just let me know...we’d be pleased to help out.”

Grahame Clayton said: “Just thought I’d drop you a line to say how much I enjoyed the bike night event in Louth. I attended on my classic Harley Davidson motorcycle, and it was great to see a good turnout for you on your 1st Bike night.

“I really hope it becomes a regular event. The setting was ideal, facilities were excellent, I’m sure a few more traders & Owners Clubs will attend when word gets around, all in all a very enjoyable evening, well done.”
