A LOCAL girl has been selected to assist in a prestigious Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebration parade.

Fifteen-year-old Pippa Hill, a carriage driver from Huttoft, will work with the renowned Derbyshire Red House Stables Working Carriage Museum when they parade in Chesterfield on June 3.

The 15-year-old was selected after impressing at a junior scholarship day.

“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me,” said Pippa, who is currently studying for her GCSEs at the Queen Elizabeth Grammar School in Alford.

“It’s really going to give me an insight into the career I want to pursue as it will give me more confidence.

“It is going to be amazing to feel a part of such a well prepared celebration.”
