xSTAFF and pupils at Kidgate Primary School celebrated a ‘Good’ Oftsed report after a recent inspection.
Headteacher Tracey Roberts said: “We are delighted with our Ofsted report which clearly states we are now a Good school and infers that we are on our way to becoming outstanding.
“It is down to the hard work, commitment, dedication and expertise of staff that this has been possible and the continued support parents and carers give the school.
“This is especially pleasing as, since January 2012, Ofsted significantly raised the bar for inspections and many schools have either been downgraded, or have only maintained the judgements made previously.
“So it is with great satisfaction and a sense of pride and achievement we have gone from Satisfactory to Good under the harshest of regimes.”
The report commended the school on the quality of its teaching and the positive attitude of pupils.
It added that classes were interesting and pupil behaviour was also good, commenting on the polite and friendly nature of the youngsters.
The inspectors, who spent two days at the school observing lessons, added that Kidgate had improved since its last Ofsted inspection in 2008.
