Kidgate Primary School pupils get Royal Life Saving Society Rookie Lifeguard Gold Awards

MAX Greenfield (left) and George Hart have both just become rookie lifeguards – part of only the second group of children to do so in the Louth area.

The boys, who are both pupils at Kidgate Primary School, have just received their Royal Life Saving Society Rookie Lifeguard Gold Awards.

They have completed three levels, bronze, silver and gold, over three 10-week courses at the Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth.

The course, run by Natalie Starkey, involves learning water safety skills and personal safety, as well as life saving and first aid for youngsters aged eight to 12 years.
