Ladies get crafty at Thoresby institute night

PRESIDENT Audrey Foster welcomed 21 members and one guest to November’s meeting of North Thoresby and District WI.

In-house tutor Janet Draycott showed members the craft items they were to make that evening – a decorated gift box and stitched cover for a post-it notepad.

As usual members, very pleased with their results, went home with two completed items.

The raffle was won by Beverley Worrall. The competition, a craft item, was won by Val Savage, who was awarded the Lidgard Trophy. Second was Sheila Housman, with Jackie Newborough, Janet Draycott and Audrey Foster coming third.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, December 6 in the village hall at 7.30pm.

Members will be entertained by Brian Dawson, talking about and performing Lincolnshire Folk Songs and Carols.
