LETTER: Council resignation not related to supermarket

EDITOR - I would like to make a few factual changes to Mr Gains’ letter - January 23. EDITOR - I would like to make a few factual changes to Mr Gains’ letter - January 23.

The only reason I stepped down from Louth Town Council was ill health, and nothing to do with a supermarket.

In my view it would be a very sad day if either Coun Leonard or Coun Marris were to resign, the amount of work and time both gentlemen spend on council related duties is amazing!

Whilst in part agreeing with Mr Gains about Louth’s need for a larger supermarket with petrol station, the cattle market site is wrong for practical reasons.

Could Morrison’s not be enlarged and use made of the fuel tanks from the old bus depot?
