A Little Cawthorpe man, who has recently enjoyed his annual holiday ‘with a difference’ has returned home safe and sound having cycled 700 miles in just 11 days.
David Bolland, 76, took off to Copenhagen in June on his bicycle, after taking a flight from Humberside Airport to Schiphol, Amsterdam.
Each year David takes to his bicycle to travel incredible distances, all in the name of ‘relaxation’.
In recent years David’s ‘holiday destinations’ have been Spain, Slovenia and Italy, each time travelling on his bike.
In June he set off for Copenhagen, reaching Hamburg on June 7 and his final destination in Denmark on June 12.
“The weather was fine every day with warm sunshine, between 15 and 23 degrees,” he said.
“It was a very interesting trip with almost each day bringing chance meetings with local people.
“Copenhagen is quite superb for cyclists!”
