A LOUTH business owner is celebrating her 50th year by cycling an incredible 5,000 miles across Canada to raise money for Cancer Research.

Jo Woolliams, 49, left Vancouver on April 12 on the West Coast and is almost half way along the famous 49th parallel and aims to finish in Halfax on the East Coast on July 31.

Jo, owner of the Chilli Peppers Cookshop in Eastgate, has so far raised nearly £1,500 and is blogging about her daily experiences on her website www.edgetoedgecanada.com

“I realise this seems crazy but in the full scheme of things I think life should be celebrated and that by doing this challenge for Cancer Research UK I can spread awareness of this incredible charity,” she said.
