The Mablethorpe Air Cadets were graced with the presence of their corps Wing Commander during their annual inspection last week.
Wing Commander Wright inspected all of the cadets on parade who were all dressed to impress and they didn’t disappoint, showing him that a small squadron such as theirs can still stand out.
He was also very impressed by what the cadets have achieved so far this year.
The inspection was followed by a number of cadet presentations.
Two cadets were awarded with a squadron marksman for shooting and for cadet G Lippolis, he managed to gain the marksman on his first time shooting within the Air Training Corps.
Seven other cadets also received their Heart Start certificates and a number of cadets were awarded their classification certification, an award which is helping them work towards there BTEC in Aviation studies.
After the presentations, Wing Commander Wright managed to stop for a while longer to have a discussion with the cadets about what they were doing at the moment and what activities they were enjoying within the air cadets.
Squadron commander warrant officer Scott Gardiner said after the inspection: “It was a very successful evening and I am really proud of the cadets achievements and the unit is moving forward with continuous success.
“It was wonderful for the cadets to meet Wing Commander Wright and for their ideas to be heard.”
