East Lindsey District Councillors approved the handing over of Alford’s Corn Exchange to the Alford Corn Exchange Community Group (ACECG) last week.
Executive Board members approved the freehold transfer of the building to the ACECG for the sum of £1.
ELDC’s Portfolio Holder for Finance, Coun John Upsall, said: “We are pleased to be able to hand the Alford Corn Exchange over to the Community Group who intend to maximise its use within the community for the benefit of local residents.
“We fully support them in their vision.”
ELDC continue to use part of the ground floor as a customer access point.
If the ACECG stop using the building at any time it can only be transferred to another group with similar charitable aims.
