A man who damaged a stranger’s car in Mablethorpe because he was angry with someone else had been told he had done a ‘rotten thing’, a court has heard.
Mark Wayne Pickett, 45, of Burgh Road in Skegness, had admitted damaging the car in Mablethorpe on December 18 when he appeared before district judge John Stobart at Skegness Magistrates Court.
Paul Wood, prosecuting, said that Sheena Coates had parked her car in Golf Road in Mablethorpe while she went to the cinema.
At around 7.40pm, Pickett, who had been involved in an argument with someone, in a rage had kicked Ms Coates’ car.
Judge Stobart told Pickett it was a ‘rotten thing’ for anyone to come back to and find that their car had been damaged by someone who just decided to do it for no reason.
“Next time you feel like kicking something, kick the kerb,” said the judge.
Pickett was given a 12 month conditional discharge and he was ordered to pay £75 in compensation.
Pickett was also ordered to pay £40 in costs as well as a £15 victim surcharge.
