Bishop of Lincoln leads annual procession and service

The Red Hill Good Friday Procession EMN-140421-103830001

The annual Good Friday Procession of the Cross took place at Asterby near Donington on Bain with an outdoor service at Red Hill.

The procession from the bottom of the hill see three wooden crosses carried to the summit where they are erected.

This year Right Rev Christopher Lowson, Bishop of Lincoln, acted as preacher at the service, which attracted crowds from across Lincolnshire, before acting Rural Dean 
Rev Mark Holden led the service in the shelter of the natural hollow on the hillside.

The Banovallum Band from Horncastle provided music to accompany the singing of hymns.
