A Christmas party for staff at the Brackenborough Hotel has raised £457 for the Louth and District Hospice.

The party was held in the Brackenborough’s Tennyson Suite on November 24 and was attended by around 80 staff members from the Oak Ridge Group, which includes the Brackenborough Hotel and the Ashbourne Hotel in North Killingholme.

The party was organised by Rob Walton, assistant manager at the Ashbourne Hotel.

Martyn Keal from the Sylvester Keal Group, which deals with kitchen maintainence at the

Brackenborough, donated an iPad Mini which was then offered as a prize in a name card game at the party.

The iPad Mini competition raised £250 for the hospice while a separate raffle raised £207, bringing the total to £457 on the night.

Prizes for the raffle were donated by businesses, with special mention going to Corney & Barrow wine suppliers, Stephen’s Hair Studio in Grimsby, and Vonnie’s Cakes.

Hospice trustee Doreen Stephenson, pictured left, praised the “fantastic support” that the Brackenborough has given to hospice over the years.

Doreen said: “The money raised will be used to extend the hospice services.

“Along with the money that we have been raising independently, it will go directly towards the new hospice here in Louth.”

Brackenborough owner Ashley Lidgard, pictured right, said: “We are always serving local people, and this is us giving something back to the local area.”
