Supermarket giant Aldi has had to halt the May start date to demolish Louth’s old Malt Kiln site in Newbridge Hill.

A spokesperson for Aldi has said that “they are still trying to plan a programme for road closures and demolition may not begin on site until either September or October.”

The Leader reported in April that demolition would begin this month, but now these plans have been pushed back.

Aldi did confirm that they “fully own the site and that they are committed to going ahead with the build.”

The Leader will have more news on the developments with the Aldi site once they are made available.
