East Lindsey District Council looks set to give the go ahead for a huge new housing estate on the edge of Louth.
A council planning officer has recommended that outline permission be given for up to 970 homes including affordable housing and a primary school on land rear of Agarth Farm and Southfield Farm, Legbourne Road.
Many locals have expressed copncerns about the scheme fearing it could change Louth forever.
A decision will be made at the ELDC planning committee on Thursday March 13.
The planning officers’s report said: “It has been demonstrated that there is adequate capacity on the local road network for the additional traffic generated by the development.
“The design of the estate is indicative of a potentially high quality urban design in its layout and the nature of the buildings and spaces reflect the more sub urban character of nearby estates and would, on balance, result in the creation of an acceptable extension to the settlement which will be sympathetic to its immediate setting.”
