BREAKING NEWS: Lindum’s Mablethorpe development given approval
LINDUM’S £50million development for Mablethorpe was dramatically given the go ahead this morning (Thursday), despite being unanimously rejected just four months ago.
East Lindsey District Council agreed to hear the application again after questions were raised over the proceedings at the meeting in December.
A heated meeting saw councillors forced to retire for ten minutes after one member of the public’s repeated outbursts saw them asked to leave.
Planning members were split over the development which includes 180 new houses, a supermarket, pub and petrol station on land off Golf Road in the town, before the plans were finally given outline planning permission by five councillors.
We spoke to chair of the action group who supported Lindum, MAGLIN, to get her reaction to today’s verdict.
Local residents both for and against the plans were keen to give their views to the Leader after the meeting.
