Bridge McFarland wins best medium-sized employer at Lincolnshire and Rutland Skills Awards
LEADING regional law firm Bridge McFarland has won the title of best medium-sized employer at the Lincolnshire and Rutland Skills Awards 2012.
The awards are intended to reward employers who have demonstrated excellence in helping staff to develop their skills through high-quality training support, including apprenticeships.
Other finalists in the competition organised by the Lincolnshire and Rutland Employment and Skills Board included the Wig and Mitre pub and restaurant in Lincoln and Spilsby-based J&A international.
Tina Burton, Bridge McFarland’s human resources manager, and associate solicitor Claire Wheeler accepted the award on behalf of the firm at a ceremony at the Lawns in Lincoln.
Mrs Burton said: “We are delighted and proud that Bridge McFarland has won this award.
“We currently employ 15 modern apprentices and provide development opportunities for many other staff by, for instance, encouraging them to train as legal executives through Ilex, the Institute of Legal Executives, or to continue their studies to solicitor level.
“We are proud to say that around 20 per cent of our total staff are currently engaged in some form of formal training.”
