Find out how to change your life through ‘food, exercise and socialising’ at a Louth venue.

It is all happening at The Trinity Centre.

Every Wednesday, East Lindsey District Council’s health trainers will be there to take people on a journey to discover how to ‘eat healthily, enjoy regular exercise and take advantage of local social events’.

People can take part in as many or as few sessions as they want to. The day will start with a health trainer drop-in session where participants can discuss lifestyle changes to improve health and fitness between 9am and 10am.

Then from 10am to 11am as part of a rolling six week course, the Food for Life Team will explain how food can improve people’s mood and wellbeing as well as tips for healthy eating on a budget. This will be followed by another six week rolling course between 11am and 12noon. This time a cooking course designed to teach culinary skills while producing simple cost effective meals in a social setting.

A walking group, suitable for all abilities, will leave the Trinity Centre at 12.30pm for an hour long walk around Louth to burn off the calories and get some fresh air and exercise. Then from 1.30pm to 3pm, a relaxed session called Go Places will encourage people to enjoy a coffee and cake together while playing board games and discussing various social outings on offer such as the cinema, theatre, local cafés or indoor bowls.

Coun Adam Grist, ELDC’s s Portfolio Holder for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, said: “We all know the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, but many people are unsure of how to make changes to their own life, particularly if they are cooking on a budget or short of time due to family or work commitments. These courses and the advice are designed to help people to start and maintain a healthy lifestyle whatever their circumstances.”

Anyone of any age can attend the sessions which are free of charge.
