Five-piece boy band Collabro, which features Louth lad Thomas Leak, have sprung off the back of their Britain’s Got Talent victory earlier this year to release their debut album ‘Stars’, which instantly soared to the top spot in the album charts following its release on Monday.
Within hours of the album going on sale, the album had leapt to the number one spot in both the iTunes chart and the Amazon chart.
Following the album’s official release, the group took to Twitter to tell their fans: “Today is better than all our past Birthdays and Christmas’ combined!!”, before adding a message of thanks to all those who helped them get where they are today.
Thomas Leak’s mum, Gabriella McCree, said that was “just wonderful” to witness the group’s latest success.
Gabriella said: “It’s lovely to see that lots of people are really enjoying the album, and there have been lots of lovely comments on Facebook and Twitter.
“It still feels unreal. I got my albums through on Monday morning and I just keep staring at them. I can’t believe it’s really happening!”
Collabro will be performing at St James’ Church in Louth on September 19, before embarking on a nationwide tour in January 2015.
