Since we’re in the season of good will, a company based in Sutton on Sea has presented £250 simply as a good will gesture to the Voluntary Car Service.

The Sutton on Sea based Community Voluntary Car Service provides both local and long distance ‘door to door’ transport for any medical or therapeutic appointment and for hospital in-patient visiting.

This local charity always welcomes support from local businesses and were lucky enough to benefit from three local donations recently.

Colin Rollason, MD of Alford Windows and Plastics in Sutton on Sea said: “I simply wanted to do it as a good will gesture for a good cause.

“I presented the Community Voluntary Car Service with £250 which I was pleased to give to this worthy charity based right on my door step.”

The money that the Community Voluntary Car Service has been given wil be used to purchase new winter fleeces for the 50 drivers and office volunteers that they have based with them in Sutton on Sea.

When the Fenland Laundry Group in Skegness were contacted to see if they could supply the fleeces, the businesses committee instead donated £150 towards the fleeces.

They also suggested the CVCS contact ID Workwear in Spilsby for the supply.

When ID Workwear heard what the CVCS were doing, they decided to match Fenlands offer and agreed to supply the fleeces for them.

Thanks to these generous businesses, the CVCS will get the winter fleeces that they need for all of their staff.
