Cordeaux School staff Woodhall Spa Triathlon success

STAFF from Cordeaux School competed in the Woodhall Spa Triathlon.

The event comprised a 400 metre swim, 24 kilometre bike ride followed by a five kilometre run.

Headteacher Peter Kubicki, deputy headteacher Mark Roberts and assistant headteacher Paul File formed a senior leadership team and part-time languages teacher Heather Howard, teaching assistant Emily Roberts and PE teacher Fiona McBurnie, a ladies team.

Lead teaching assistant Kate Kemp also took on the challenge of completing all three disciplines as an individual for the first time.

In the worst possible conditions, freezing cold and driving rain and wind, they battled the elements and completed a course that many abandoned because of the bad weather.

The team competition saw the senior team defeat the ladies, finishing in 1.28-57 and 1.46-41 respectively.

Mrs Kemp finished in a very creditable total time of 1.43-25.

For their first attempt, all in all a great effort and hopefully the start of an annual challenge!
